Tool Availability Report

In the Prepare stage, the Tool Availability Report shows which tool assemblies will potentially be used by CAM Assist when it runs, and also which operations may be affected by shortfalls in the attached session tools or cloud tool libraries.  The aim of this report is to help you sort out tooling issues that may impact your ability to generate a successful outcome with CAM Assist. 

 

The Tool Availability Report is accessed by clicking on the button to the left of 'Run CAM Assist' button:

 

Also, during conditions when the session tools and/or the selected tool libraries are insufficient to finish the requested machining operations, the 'Run CAM Assist' button will be presented in red, and will have an '!' icon:

When the 'Run CAM Assist' button is red, it is a clear sign that the selected tools are insufficient to complete the requested operations. Open the Tool Availability Report for more details.

 

 

To view the Tool Availability Report

  1. Click the Tool Availability Report button.

 

  1. The Tool Availability Repot will open.
  1. The report header contains summary information about the available tools, and the Settings button:

     

  2. The Machines, Material and selected tool libraries are shown:

 

  1.  The Toolpath types summary section is the third section. If there are are any issues identified. If any toolpath types were not checked in the Prepare > Advanced mode > Parameters, they will be identified here. You may wan to select the Go to Parameters button to make adjustments. (That action takes you back to Prepare > Advanced mode > Parameters.

     

     

  2. The Preset source is identified. This summarizes the Cutting parameter generation selections from Prepare > Advanced mode > Parameters. Select the Go to Parameters button to make adjustments if necessary. (That action takes you back to Prepare > Advanced mode > Parameters.

     

  3. The Toolpath types section outlines the tool available in the session tools and/or cloud tool libraries for each type:

    1. Select Go to library (or the button with the name of the tool library if there are more than one item available) to open the library:

    2. Pick Show full breakdown to examine tool availability for an explanation of each tool assembly.

    3. In this view, select Needs action for any tool for more information. 

 

Tool Availability Report Settings

 

To adjust the settings for the Tool Availability Report:

  1. Click on the Settings icon at the top of the report:
  1. The report settings will open:
  2. Choose when to show the report. The selections available are:

    1. Never - The Tool Availability Report will never be shown
    2. On error - The Tool Availability Report will be shown after the Run CAM Assist button is selected if errors are present with the tool library only.
    3. On warning -  The Tool Availability Report will be shown after the Run CAM Assist button is selected if errors or warnings are present with the tool library.
    4. Always - The Tool Availability Report will be shown every time the Run CAM Assist button is selected.
