When CAM Assist runs but no toolpaths appear in SolidCAM, the issue is usually that SolidCAM is not pointing to the correct CAM Assist template directory. CAM Assist needs these templates to generate operations and send them back into SolidCAM. CAM Assist relies on these templates to create toolpaths such as drilling, chamfering, pocketing, face milling, freeform machining, iMachining, and undercuts. If SolidCAM is pointed at the wrong directory, CAM Assist may appear to run, but no operations or toolpaths will be created.
To fix this issue:
Inside of SolidCAM, open Tools > SolidCAM Settings and go to:
User directories → User Directory for system additional files
Set this directory to the correct SolidCAM tables folder:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\SolidCAM\SolidCAM2025\Tables\Metric
or, for inch setups:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\SolidCAM\SolidCAM2025\Tables\Inch
You should also verify...
Inside the selected Metric or Inch folder, there should be a CamAssist folder:
...\Tables\Metric\CamAssist
or
...\Tables\Inch\CamAssist
After changing the directory
Click OK, run CAM Assist again, then send the program back to SolidCAM. The toolpaths should now appear.
