The control of tool selection in wall corners can be influenced in the Prepare phase. In Prepare under Advanced > Finishing controls panel, there is a control to enable like-for-like inner corner finishing.
This control allows for CAM Assist to choose tools with geometry that matches the inner corner radius. For example if the fillet on an inner pocket is 1/2", CAM Assist will typically choose tools with a smaller diameter in order to preserve the tolerance of the fillet. This may lead to longer cycle times than expected.
With the Allow like-for-like inner corner finishing control enabled, CAM Assist will allow for the selection of tools that match the corner constraints.
Note - If inner corner tolerances are specified, it is recommended that this control be left unchecked, as tool deflection may lead to non compliant finishing in inner corners.
If this control is unchecked, tool editing choices in the Program view (Strategy editing) may also be limited.
Note - Even with this control checked, other factors may prevent the selection of the anticipated tool.
