Splitting an Operation

In the Analyze > Program view of CAM Assist, it is possible to divide the faces used in an operation into two operations.

Use Split operation to move selected faces into a new operation.

Splitting is helpful when some faces in an operation need to be processed differently. This tool removes the selected faces from the current operation and creates a new operation containing only those faces. You can then edit the new operation to achieve the required result.

Splitting is also useful when only some faces need different cutting parameters. Split the operation so you can adjust cutting settings independently for each group of faces.

 

To split an operation, 

  1. Click on the Edit button of the operation to be split:
  1. Choose Split operation (Some operations may not be split. For instance, operations using a single face may not be split).

 

 

  1. Select the faces to move to the new (split off) operation:

 

 

  1. Select Confirm (or Cancel to abandon the operation).
  2. A message will appear:
  1. Where there was a single operation, there will now be two (2). Each operation will be displayed as 'edited,' with a circle around the Edit button:
