Edit the Tool Assembly Used in an Operation

When editing operations, it is possible to change the tool used , or edit the tool assembly . 

 

 

Tool assembly selector

The tool assembly selector has two modes:

  1. Collapsed - When collapsed the tool assembly information is limited.
    1. Hovering over the tool assembly selector reveals the parent tool library of the tool assembly
  1. Expanded - Clicking the tool assembly selector expands the component to reveal more information about the tool assembly:

To collapse the tool assembly selector, click the Collapse button at the top of the component.

 

 

Change tool assembly

Applying another tool to an operation is done with the Change tool assembly function.

  1. Inside the tool assembly selector, select the context menu button (the three vertical dots)

  2. Choose Change tool assembly

3. The Select tool assembly modal will open

 

  1. The number of suitable tools will be shown at the top of the modal
  2. Filters will allow for refinement of the selection possibilities (these filters will vary depending on tool type.
    1. Search
    2. Diameter min
    3. Diameter max
    4. To edit a tool assembly from this view, select the edit button in the top corner of the tool assembly container. 
  1. Search, filter and scan the modal, and select the preferred tool assembly
    1. When the Select button is chosen, the modal will close and the tool assembly will be applied to the operation.
    2. Select Cancel at the bottom of the modal to abandon changing the tool assembly.

 

Note - when selecting tools, only those tools that are valid for the operation are available, with the exception of twist drills, if the user chooses in the Edit holemaking strategy panel.

 

 

Edit tool assembly

  1. Inside the tool assembly selector, select the context menu button (the three vertical dots)

  2. Choose Edit tool assembly

3. The Edit tool assembly view of the tool assembly, within the tool library will be shown.

Note - This function does occur in the My Shop workflow. When Done is selected, you will be returned to the tool library. Select Back to part to return to the Analyze view. 

Note - when a change is made to tool assembly, the default behaviour will be to lock the field. This will prevent changes to other edit fields from changing the Tool assembly. Select the lock button to unlock the field.
