How to Install CAM Assist for Mastercam in a Shared Folder on a Server
Below are the steps required to install CAM Assist for Mastercam in a shared network drive:
Ensure that the latest version of CAM Assist for Mastercam is installed.
If you have an older version, uninstall it by running
uninstall.exefrom:C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mastercam 2025\Add-InsInstall the latest CAM Assist build and the tool library into the Add-In folder on the shared server.
Open Mastercam.
Navigate to Files > Configuration to access the System Configuration window.
Under the Files tab, go to Data Paths and select Shared Mastercam Folder.
Under Selected Item specify the shared folder path and select the Shared Mastercam 2025 folder from your network’s shared drive where the config files, tool libraries, and machine definitions are stored.
Log out of your current user profile and log in as Admin.
Repeat the configuration steps above to ensure the setup is applied for the Admin profile as well.
(Open Mastercam. Navigate to Files > Configuration to access the System Configuration window. Under the Files tab, go to Data Paths and select Shared Mastercam Folder. Specify the shared folder path and select the Shared Mastercam 2025 folder from your network’s shared drive where the config files, tool libraries, and machine definitions are stored.)
Ensure all users have full read/write access to the shared Mastercam folders.
Confirm that the user profile has Admin rights.
Double-check that the network path to the Shared Mastercam Folder is correctly specified.
Restart Mastercam.
If it does not work, verify the network path and check for any access restrictions.
