How do I minimize tool changes?
You can minimize the number of tool changes by doing the following:
Limiting the number of tools available to CAM Assist. You can do this by selecting a smaller tool library, or using the tools from the individual session. This could have adverse results on the amount of the part that CAM Assist can accurately finish.
Alternatively, you can:
- Navigate to the Prepare phase
- Click on the advanced toggle switch to enter advanced mode.
- Click on the "Finishing" tab.
Under "finishing operation order", you can select "Minimize Tool Changes". This will force CAM Assist to try finish more of the larger surfaces with smaller tools to reduce the number of tool changes.
