What is GovCloud?

Summary
GovCloud (AWS GovCloud US) is a highly secure, ITAR/NIST-compliant cloud environment that CloudNC offers for CAM Assist customers with strict regulatory requirements, such as defense manufacturers. It is a backend infrastructure option — not a user-facing toggle — arranged during the purchasing process. Data is automatically routed through compliant US government-grade servers. Contact CloudNC sales to enable it.

What is GovCloud?

GovCloud refers to a specialized, highly secure cloud environment (Amazon Web Services GovCloud US) that CloudNC offers for hosting CAM Assist data for customers with strict regulatory requirements. In the context of CAM Assist, GovCloud is an option to ensure that sensitive data (such as defense-related or ITAR-controlled part files) are processed and stored within a compliant US government-grade cloud infrastructure.

Why does GovCloud matter in CAM Assist?

GovCloud matters for companies that handle sensitive or regulated data.  By using AWS GovCloud (US), CloudNC can process your CAM Assist jobs in a cloud environment that meets stringent requirements like NIST 800-171 and ITAR. You should speak to our sales team to find out more information.

Where can I find GovCloud in CAM Assist?

GovCloud isn’t a setting you toggle in the CAM Assist software; it’s part of the backend infrastructure. To use GovCloud for CAM Assist, you should discuss it with CloudNC during the purchasing process. We can then route your data through our GovCloud-hosted servers using a different installation process. As a user, you won’t visibly see a difference in the CAM Assist user interface but all your CAM Assist processing will automatically use that secure environment.
