Who can access the part data after upload?

Only CloudNC’s systems (and by extension, authorized CloudNC personnel if necessary for support) can access your part data after it’s uploaded for processing. The data is kept secure and confidential – it’s hosted on CloudNC’s highly secure cloud infrastructure and encrypted both in transit and at rest. CloudNC staff do not routinely access your part files; they might only do so if you raise a support issue and explicitly provide permission. The data is not shared with other customers or third parties. CloudNC adheres to strong security protocols (SOC2 Type 2, etc.) so that your uploaded geometry and results are protected. If you have opted for GovCloud (for ITAR data), then only U.S. persons in a GovCloud environment handle it, meeting those regulatory requirements. Essentially, after upload, your part data remains in CloudNC’s cloud for the duration of processing (and maybe short-term storage for download by you), and then is not accessible to anyone else except as needed within CloudNC’s secure processes. Even CloudNC’s AI doesn’t use it for training (as stated). So practically, it’s almost as if only you and an automated server see it, unless intervention is needed.

Why is understanding access to part data after upload important?

IP protection is critical. Many users worry that uploading their CAD to a cloud service could expose their proprietary designs. CloudNC wants to assure that only their secure system sees it and it’s not being browsed by employees or leaked. The mention of encryption and certifications is to build trust that even if an outsider got hold of the data, it’s encrypted. Also, by limiting human access, they minimize insider risk. This question likely comes from a customer or compliance perspective – and CloudNC’s answer would highlight that no other customers or unprivileged parties can see your files. Perhaps they have a system where each user’s data is segregated. The user likely retains full ownership too – CloudNC won’t reuse it. The environment is as safe as any cloud (if not safer because they’re specialized). If a user’s major worry is “if I upload my aerospace part, who can later see it?” – answer: basically just CloudNC’s secure processing and you. Possibly for a time if you saved the project, it might be stored encrypted for your account to re-download results etc., but still not accessible by others. For GovCloud, they explicitly mention it as an option to satisfy even stricter controls , meaning not even leaving U.S. soil, etc. Summarily, after upload, your data isn’t out in the wild – it’s tightly controlled.
